OTE Arts Lab:
Where creative vision meets space, support, and possibility.

OTE Arts Lab

Artist Residency Program

A creative residency supporting experimentation, community connection, and artistic excellence.

The OTE Arts Lab is a flexible, artist-centered residency program based in the Olde Towne East neighborhood of Columbus, Ohio. Designed to support artists through time, space, and financial support, the Lab invites artists to experiment, create new work, and connect with community in meaningful, self-directed ways.

Residencies are open to artists across disciplines including: visual art, installation, performance, social practice, and more.

Program Benefits

  • Creative Autonomy

Rather than prescribing outcomes, the OTE Arts Lab encourages creative autonomy — supporting artists as they define how they want to grow, engage, and show up in our space. Whether it's a pop-up installation, a participatory art experience, or simply a chance to build new work in a supportive environment, this program is built to meet artists where they are — and invite the neighborhood along for the journey.

  • Artist Stipend & Materials Support

Up to $3,000 Artist Stipends are offered to local and regional artists over the course of their stay. Our flexible timeline allows each artist to determine the length of time and number of resources they would like to devote to a project with OTE Arts facilitating based on need and desired outcomes.

  • Studio & Gallery Space

OTE Arts will provide working studio and optional gallery spaces for the ideation, creation and presentation of work. Our studios are housed at 700 Bryden Road, a mixed-use building with gallery space, studios, and a lobby café. Our residency artists have access to installation space, tools, and community touchpoints throughout the building.

  • Community

Your studio space is amongst an already established artist community of over 30 artists in all disciplines and nestled in the historic Olde Towne East neighborhood. Our location and artist network allow each artist the option and opportunity for collaboration, to lead a public activation or spearhead a community-facing project.
